Kids don’t want to act up or get themselves in trouble.

Negative behavior or outbursts can be a child’s way of communicating because they lack the skills or words to express themselves fully. Unfortunately, several behavioral disorders have problems with anger management listed as a symptom. It will take a skilled therapist to understand if your child’s anger management difficulties may be related to something like depression, anxiety, ADHD, or even something else.

Signs or symptoms can include:

  • Screaming, yelling, hitting or kicking

  • Overreacting or explosive responses to normal or minor experiences  or stimuli

  • Difficult to console or comfort

  • Family feeling like they are walking on eggshells or displaying avoidant behaviors

  • Increased backtalking or arguing

  • Getting into fights at school

It is possible to learn what your child is trying to communicate and bring peace to your home again. We are here to listen and help you understand what your child needs to get back to the fun loving kid they once were. Together, we will help your son or daughter learn how to identify what their feelings are and how to verbalize or express their needs appropriately.
